Kate is 21 months old today. A couple of cute things:
- She said "thank you mommy" for the first time this weekend. And yes, my heart melted on the spot. All I did was hand her a cup of milk. Thank you is a phrase that she's been stuck using sign language on, so Chris and I were very happy to hear her say the words so clearly.
- She probably said her first sentence this weekend. She said, "Dill ate bubbies" That's her word for "bunnies," and she blurted it out after tears when Dill reached into her snack cup and took her favorite snack. And yes, Mom was impressed when she got the verb tense right:).
- She's stringing more things together...for example, "purple cat" and "yellow goldfish" from looking at pictures of Brown Bear, Brown Bear.
- She love's looking at pictures of herself. We have a digital photo frame by the kitchen table and she spends most of dinner saying "mommy, daddy, Kate, grandpa, Dill," etc. as the pictures rotate through.
Here is Kate playing tonight with her baby doll, something she became interested in again yesterday when a friend came over to play. "Baby" has now made it into the crib rotation at night and was given coveted space on her pillow tonight next to elephant and dog. Yes, she'll need a king-sized bed soon to handle all of her friends:).
