- We're one week away from moving. We will be new residents of a building in Belltown. Water views and most importantly, more space!! Imagine a kitchen multiple people can be in and space for a dining room table. And a den that will serve as an office for me. It's going to be great. (Our condo will go on the market by February. Any takers? It's been a great home...just have run out of space!)
- Kate is at a new daycare as of this week. She's doing well. My only complaint is that she's coming home orange. Yesterday was a combination of carrots - the one vegetable she's had so far - and finger painting. But I certainly give them credit for all of the enrichment activities. She has music everyday - a woman comes around and plays an instrument and signs to the babies. And today she supposedly had sign language, although I forgot to ask what signs they showed her. Suffice to say that time at daycare is probably more interesting than hanging out with Mom and Dad.
- My mom taught Kate to "fake cough" over Christmas. She thinks she's hot stuff.
- And the hit Christmas gift was a tea set from Fisher Price. I had bought it as a joke gift for Kate to give to Chris since he has said all along that he didn't want to play tea party. That was too girlie. Well, which Chris Brucia has now been caught singing the words to the teapot song it plays...hmmm, I wonder? It must be some other Chris Brucia I know.
- We got to go to a Seahawks game on Sunday thanks to last-minute tickets from friends. Of course, the team stunk this year, but I hadn't been to a game yet and the weather stayed dry. And our babysitter could come at the last minute. Success.
- Chris got me an awesome Christmas present. I'm taking Kate to swimming lessons starting on Saturday. Well, lessons is an overstatement, but she ought to love being in the pool if bath time is any indication. (If only I didn't have to wear a bathing suit. That part I'm not looking forward to.)
- Kate weighed 17 pounds and was 26.5 inches long at her sixth month appointment. She's so proud of her ability to sit up. She may never crawl because she never wants to be on her tummy or back anymore.
